Well language detection is actually a feature introduced into Jaws. If you are using Eloquence, JAWS automatically switches languages appropriately. Jaws looks at the language attribute. But if you don't want jaws to do that automatically, luckily there is a way to turn it off in the configuration manager as I described. If you don't want Jaws to do it at all, no matter what the application, make the changes to the default configuration manager. After you press insert 6, press control shift D and that will open the default configuration manager. Hi Debbie and Michael, Sorry to come in on this thread, but I seem to have been having the same problem as Michael in reverse, I.E, I have all JFW voices set to British English, but in some messages I have received, (not all), the voice was switching to American English at certain points. An example of this would be if I had sent a message to someone and they then replied but leaving my message in below their own. In this case the message I received was read in British English and then my original was read in American English. I have now taken the advice given to and it seems to have cured the problem. Thank you Debbie for replying to Michael on list and giving me the opportunity to take the required action.
