Hi,
I also use Jaws 9 and Windows Vista Home Premium to access my Gmail account.
There are two views in GMail: Standard and Basic HTML. My experience
of using GMail is that Basic HTML is very easy for Jaws users to use
(in fact Google recommend Basic HTML for screenreader users). Is Gmail
set to Basic HTML? If not, its probably worth changing from Standard
View to Basic HTML. Once done, I think you will find Gmail (including
signing in) much easier.
In Basic HTML view you should be presented with two edit fields: one
to type in your username/email and, the other to enter your password.
Just type in the information and sign in. There is also an option to
allow Google to remember you on a particular computer. I find this
helpful and, as I am the only person who uses my PC I check the box
which says "remember me on this computer".
