If JAWS doesn’t read Flash Start followed by the buttons in the Flash movie, either the Flash player is not installed or JAWS is set to ignore Flash content. As far as I can rememebr, this is not the default setting so it looks like the Flash player is not installed. Yes i have witnessed this on the clients machine..i was teaching him. http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/ when he clicks on a "listen again" link, a new browser window opens. there is a bit of info about the program as well as the play/pause/volume/timeline options. yes the virtual cursor is active, now you say about flashplayer and pop ups though, that could be it !! and will be my first checking point. These commands work in itunes effectively, so it does only seem to be iplayer. Have you yourself seen this happen on the client's machine, or are you just reporting what he has said? Can you give me the url of the page he is having the problem with, and an example of a specific link for which Enter and Space don't work? Is his virtual PC cursor active? Is he able to access non-iplayer links successfully? Has he got Flash Player installed, and is JAWS configured not to ignore Flash on web pages? Sorry for all the questions, but I need as much information as you can provide. Thanks. He can tab around the browser window and each control can be made active (it turns orange), but neither the space or the enter key work to activate the option. Are you and the client both using JAWS, or only the client? What version(s)? Is the virtual PC cursor active? What browser are you both using? What version(s)? Thanks. Space or enter is required to activate and play or pause a program. They don't work. But everything works fine on my laptop. We both have the laptop keyboard setup. I have gone through the settings and cannot replicate what is happening on the clients machine. Any ideas?
