It is possible that one could argue that Acorn with its BBC micros could have 
become a major player had they realised that they needed to license their 
design rather than solely build the kit themselves.  As it was dominating the 
UK and European markets did not necessarily turn out to meet much.

All BBC micros had networking built in from the start way back from the early 
eighties.
