Hi all, Having read the various comments on updating Adobe, I am wondering if it's Adobe hwich is giving me grief at the moment with the internet closing down on me when I atempt to open links within certain sites. Also, is it easy to update Adobe. On my list of files, I only have one reference to Adobe 10. I currently use Windows XP with JAWS 9. Secondly, a small point. The BBC site probably said you have "JavaScript" disabled. This is not the same thing as JAVA and therefore if you update the latter it will not change anything for the better on the BBC site. The reason JavaScript comes into it is because it is the code that is required to start the Flash content. Regards. I install the latest Flash when prompted to do so, which happens every couple of weeks or so. It updates without the necessity of visiting the site, but if you do need to, it's www.adobe.com ----- Original Message ----- From: John SAVAGE To: jaws-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, October 04, 2010 2:08 AM Subject: Re: [jaws-uk] Re: BBC IPlayer Me neither. I'm using JAWS 7 and IE 6 - not exactly the latest software! Don't know about the picture, but sound is working fine. It tells me I need to enable Java, and there is a help topic to tell me how. I have followed the instructions, and Java scripting is enabled, but I still can't play the programmes. I recently received an update to Java, so made sure that was installed before trying the IPlayer, but it has made no difference. Has anyone else encountered problems with the new IPlayer, and can anyone suggest what else I need to do? Thanks, Ken ______________________________________________________________________ This email has been scanned by the MessageLabs Email Security System.
