Dorothy, having looked it up on Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_printer I can't think this is of any use to you. It's there to produce the document you can't read... And if it is as big as you say, no wonder it runs out of memory. Go take a look at that wiki page if you wish, and also look up "available memory" and anything else you want to know. Finding your way round Wiki is a good exercise in learning to navigate web pages. -----Original Message----- From: jaws-uk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jaws-uk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Dorothy Ingram-Gorban Sent: 14 July 2008 22:19 To: jaws-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [jaws-uk] Available memory Dear list, this is a tricky one I was sent a large attachment the other day as a Jpeg another words it was photos of print, I do have the Ocr that Norman mentions but it was very hard to do as part was in handwriting, I sought help from My support in fact 2 of them one sighted told me the document was very poor to start with and part hand written but he wrote out the contents and I was able to understand it all the second had a good try but having no sight at all and running a Network of 7 computers he did not badly of course the handwriting was a non starter So having something called a Virtual printer I decide to have a go myself and get to the Virtual printer press Control and hear a loud warning Dong, computer said "there isn't sufficient memory to complete this task. Thing the computer my laptop which had that Trojan in June was cleaned off in December and has 1 Meg of Ram, so something is wrong .How can I make best use of what is called Available Ram which I think is not the same as ordinary memory I can never understand the difference, my Ocr I think is a Self voicing application, so how can I get hold of the memory it needs,or what is stopping it?
