Hi Jim, Removing components of audacity. If you un-install audacity 2.0, it leaves a folder called audacity in the program files folder on the c drive. You could delete this if you want to. I presume that you downloaded audacity 2.0 from: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ Have you successfully used any other recording programs recently? It might be a problem with the sound drivers on your computer. You could try updating them. If you have a problem locating sound drivers, if you let me know the make and exact model of your computer, I could try and find them for you. David. original message: Hi Folks, Apologies for cross postings. JAWS 13, XP Home I installed Audacity 2.0 last week but only got around to look at it today. When I clicked on the Audacity icon on the desktop to open it up it started to open but when it got as far as JAWS saying 66% my computer re-booted. This happened twice. After the computer re-started the second time I went into Control Panel to uninstall Audacity. JAWS announced a successful uninstall but that "some components could not be removed but this could be done manually" I want to make sure all these components have been removed before trying to re-install Audacity 2.0 again. Is there a quick, safe way of doing this? And has anyone else had a similar problem with Audacity 2.0?
