Hi,

I think this must be the case with this particular document then. And with too many documents I use - JAWS says "graphic" at the beginning of every line.

Thanks for the info,
Catherine

Unfortunately in certain pdf files text is presented as a labelled graphic, I've even seen cases where entire document is as a one large graphic with text on it, because of this every time jaws reads a new line it says "graphic" first. So if you set your jaws as labelled graphics this is why it is happening. If you set your jaws to no graphics then unfortunately it wouldn't be able to read the text. Of course you can test this. Set your jaws to no graphics. If it's still reading the text and doesn't mention graphic then something else is the issue, but that's one way of trying to solve your problem. If what's happening is what I suggested above and text is presented as a labelled graphic, then unfortunately there's not much you can do about it.

Subject: [jaws-uk] Adobe Reader question

Hi,

I'm wondering how to stop JAWS reading "graphic" when it comes across a (to me) meaningless graphic in Adobe Reader. I'm sick of hearing "graphic graphic" in almost every pdf I read. If I go into the verbosity dialog there's an item called "Graphics Verbosity" which is set to labelled. Shouldn't this mean that I don't hear just "graphic graphic" all the time? Or am I looking at the wrong setting?
