Thanks Phil,
I'll set my wife on to this one. She's more likely to tick all the right
boxes than I am.

Hi Irene,

A lot of intranet sites use the basic version of Acrobat reader rather than
the full version which is the one you need.

The following link will provide you with a wealth of information on the
creation of accessible PDF documents and a link to the download of the
version of the reader which you require.

http://www.adobe.com/enterprise/accessibility/main.html

The download link on this page is at a level 4 heading.

The download is a two stage process and you need to ensure that the combo
boxes are set to the appropriate selections for your system. Also a couple
of check boxes are ticked by default which you probably don't want. Namely
Adobe photo album and, I think, Yahoo tool bar.

If you need further information or help, please contact me directly or come
back to the list.

HTH,

Phil Medway.

Hi all

Apologies to those of you who have already seen this mail on another
list. I thought I'd try here as there has recently been some discussion
on Adobe Reader. Hope someone can help.

Having a problem reading some PDF documents from my employer's intranet
site. If the document opens in the same window, it's OK but, if it
tries to open in a new window, Adobe Reader seems to come up briefly,
then close again. Colleagues using the same version of Adobe Reader are
not having this problem so could it be something to do with the presence
of a screen reader (Jaws in this case)?

Look forward to hearing from you.

Irene
