Might look at Q read and sounds an interesting option.

Maybe not exactly the answer you're looking for - I use QRead which handles a
list of formats including the Adobe pdf and very nicely too.
Certainly worth a try.

Does anyone know how to get JAWS to navigate round a pdf file in Adobe
Reader? I can open the file and it will start to read the document
straight away and I can also access the File/Edit/View menus by
pressing Alt but I can't get to the other tabs/buttons/icons etc in
the window. I have had a look at the JAWS help topics on Adobe as well
as an Adobe Accessibility file but no joy. In particular I am wanting
to access some bookmarks that are apparently there but the menu lists
don't mention the word anywhere...
Any help would be much appreciated!
Many thanks,
Veronica
