Qwitter is also pretty good (see http://qwitter-client.net/download.php).
Basically it sits in memory and allows you to avoid having to go to the
Twitter website every time you want to check your tweets or to send a new
one.

I'm just starting out using Twitter, and finding it laborious but just about
