Hi,

You need to use the JAWS Dictionary Manager.

Press JAWS key + d to open Dictionary Manager and then press the Add button. Here you can enter an actual word, which in your case will be an abbreviation and then a replacement word which in your case will be a phrase that the abbreviation is short for. After you do this JAWS will substitute the abbreviation for the phrase you entered.

Subject: [jaws-uk] Abbreviations

Hi All,

I am currently working through a document containing lots of
abbreviations. Now, I know for instance that if I type F Y I, without
spaces! JAWS will read "For your information". But how can I set JAWS
to speak other abbreviations that are not currently identified.

All responses much appreciated.

Cheers

Regards

Dave Ankers
