Dorothy, only install that damned Silverlight if you find that a web
site you visit needs it. This seems most unlikely... If you don't have
it, you needn't worry about it going wrong and clashing with other
programs.

No. Ignore Silverlight. It's a graphical thing and generally
of little use.

George.

There are two things which can be done here.

1) He goes to "Save As" instead of Save, and selects
"Word 95-2003 Document".
2) You go to http://tinyurl.com/y5w78r and download
Microsoft's Compatibility Pack which will then let you open,
edit and save Office 2007 files within earlier versions of
Office.
George.

Hello everyone.

Can anyone help me please!...

I have received an attachment from a client that has been
saved into word. It appears he is using the newest version
of Microsoft, therefore, I am unable to open the attachment.

I have been told he should be able to save his document into
an older version of word, is that right.

If so, how is that done!...

I am using Microsoft Office 2003.

Many thanks,

Shirley.
