Will the following put you out of your mystery? Hide the Notification Icon While Allowing the Host Program to Run in the Background Many programs that provide a control in the notification area give you the option of hiding the notification icon without stopping the actual program. Three common examples of this include the system clock, the volume control, and network status. * To prevent the clock from appearing in the notification area:1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Taskbar & Start Menu.=20 2. Click to clear the Show Clock check box, and then click OK.=20 =20 * To prevent the network connection icon from appearing in the notification area:1. Right-click My Network Places, and then click Properties.=20 2. Right-click the network connection, and then click Properties.=20 3. Click to clear the Show icon in taskbar when connected check box, and then click OK.=20 =20 * To prevent the volume control from appearing in the notification area:1. Double-click the Sounds and Multimedia tool in the Control Panel.=20 2. On the Sounds tab, under Sound Volume, click to clear the Show volume control on the taskbar check box, and then click OK.=20 George. =20 -----Original Message----- From: jaws-uk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jaws-uk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Dorothy Ingram-Gorban Sent: 17 August 2006 19:21 To: jaws-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [jaws-uk] Barbera Volume Controle ect Dear Barbara I wanted the Volume control out of my system tray at least laptop as sound kept being muted. I am not certain but mine seems to want me to update to version 7.8 is that what you are using? Latest is not always best though.hard So half way through the download I stall it, once it goeson about Wizards.
