I use *wimpmode 31
that gives 800 x 600 (The star command like almost all is not case sensitive)

IIRC I have had monitors that didn't like 640x480

But if you've set it in configure it will still not display in which case
you need to hand edit:

!Boot.Choices.Boot.PreDesk.Configure.VRAM

To say:


WimpMode X800 Y600 C256

Please note that the first line which looks be something like:
LoadModeFile BootResources:Configure.Monitors.Acorn.AKF60

will if a power on delete has been done say
|oadModeFile BootResources:Configure.Monitors.Acorn.AKF60

If they look the same to you, look very carefully at the first character one
is an "L" and the other a "|" (not a lower case L)
