It doesn't flicker like a CRT, so all using a higher refresh does is make life more difficult for the analogue electronics on the graphics card and monitor. The lower bandwith of 60Hz will give a sharper image and will be less prone to ghosting. Comment out any definitions in your MDF higher than 60Hz, so you don't have to keep using the frame rate box in the mode selector.
