I'm not surprised. Those are NTP servers (see RFC5905 for the latest
specs). FreeTime can only handle the Time Protocol (RFC868).

Pipex say they haven't blocked port 123.

That's for NTP. The Time Protocol uses port 37.

This thread is giving me a distinct feeling of déjà vu, as a very
similar one has appeared on Archive On Line last month. :-)

Apparently some UK providers have stopped offering the Time Protocol on
some of their servers. As mentioned ntp2.demon.co.uk still provides it,
but ntp.demon.co.uk no longer does. It does provide NTP though, so
NetTime should be happy with it.
