Well, not NOW, thanks to you guys...

To me, it was just the longest video cable; and it was quite flexible,
which made it much easier to plug into the awkward socket on the TV.

The second longest will just reach, and (I now see) has 15 pins at both
ends. However, all the other leads have a bulge at both ends, and this
lead has only one bulge. Is it alright to have the bulge at the computer
end? Otherwise, I'll never get this thick lead to plug in under the TV.

I dunno, what did have a 9 pin video output? My old A310?

Yes, it supports the following resolutions at 60 Hz / 70 Hz / 75 Hz...

                           VGA 640 x 480
                          SVGA 800 x 600
                           XGA 1024 x 768
                          SXGA 1280 x 1024

..though I don't see how that fits with the screen being 1366 x 768.
