When both started giving disc errors I got the message and changed the PSU. (I had by then checked the voltage which was down to 4.93v) Having bought a substitute from nearby Maplins, I found there were problems booting up and traced this to too HIGH a voltage - 5.14v. However, provided I have a bit of a load on the USB side (even having the scanner on does the trick) it boots up normally. After that everything is normal. So it is quite sensitive to both low and high voltage. I was going to try changing the PSU for a different one, but having found the trick with the USB lines, I haven't bothered. The Iyo is no more or less 24/7 anyway (sorry, environmentalists!) Hope this helps.
