It will give you a drive Icon with 5 under it if it has sensed a unformatted
drive.

Maybe the two drives don't like working together.

set the new drive as Master and put it on the second IDE bus
or if you don't have a second cable Put a copy of !HForm on floppy and set
the new drive as Master and put it on the primary IDE bus

I've never heard of that being necessary!

RISC OS only looks for a valid 'Filecore' format, if that is not found it
assumes it is unformatted.
