[iyonix-support] 2nd harddrive problems

Hi
I am currently trying to add a second drive to my Iyonix
I have tried to drives in the machine so far :-
Samsung SP1203N 120GB
Seagate ST340810a 40GB
I have tried connecting both drives in the follow ways:-
The currently installed disc is set to be a master
so I have tried installing either of these discs as slaves off of the
same ribbon connector.
I have also tried disconnecting the DVD RW with is on the other ribbon
cable and attaching the drives as masters but each time I get the same
result, the Iyonix boots and reads OK off the original disc and gets
to the Iyonix RISC OS5 startup banner and the hour glass just shows.
I have tried leaving the machine in this state for quite a while to
see if it times out but no luck so far.
Both drives were installed in a Win XP machine if this makes any
difference.
It would just have been handy to have a backup of the system local to
the Iyonix in case of disaster, has anyone got any ideas.
I assume that the detection system for drives is automatic on the
Iyonix?
