Hiya,

Cheers! Well, I need to write more about this. I have a piece published on
the information sharing part - will track down and send to you.

Best wishes,
Crystal

That sounds extremely relevant to what I'm currently doing, so if you have
anything to share about it - I'd love to read. And of course it sounds very
relevant to the maybe-happening SI ;-)

Hi Arnon,

It's really a framework for understanding how hobbyists process
information - including how they share, find, etc. information.
Genealogists have particular traits that make them effective at quid pro
quo sharing, etc. All in the context of serious leisure - that is, leisure
that is really more work-like in terms of time and effort than a casual
hobby one dabbles in.

Best wishes,
Crystal

Crystal, that sounds very interesting - could you please elaborate on
this framework? Together with a colleague of mine we've started studying
how genealogists organize their gathered information, but for many reasons
we changed the focus of this study and decided to keep the information
organization topic for our next study. Together with a graduate student of
mine we're examining kids' information organization while doing a genealogy
project for school.

Hi Arnon,

My research on genealogy took place a few years ago, but I have been
working on a framework since, which explores how hobbyists such as
genealogists handle information. I'd be very happy to contribute a piece
on this if you think it would be useful!

Best wishes,
Crystal

Hello, dear all, it's been a long time since we last corresponding.

I was suggested to guest-edit a special issue of the Journal of
Multidisciplinary Research (JMR, http://www.jmrpublication.org) on
Genealogy. The SI will present genealogy-related articles from various
disciplines.

As I'm still thinking about this exciting opportunity, I'm wondering:
Would you consider submitting a paper to this SI?

Yours,
Arnon
