On Tuesday 6 June 2012 the Internet Society will be celebrating
World IPv6 Launch.http://www.worldipv6launch.org/

So, what's IPv6? Why do we need it? Why is it taking so long for it to
be widely used?

At ISOC England, we have started an IPv6 project over a year ago.
The IPv6 Matrix Project: http://www.ipv6matrix.org/

This project, sponsored in part by the Internet Society
 and run by the English Chapter of ISOC, aims to
test the most popular Internet domains in the world for IPv6 connectivity.
You are no doubt aware that the Internet is running out of IPv4
addresses and that a transition towards IPv6 is the preferred option to
maintain its viability and global scaling. Our aim is to track the
spread of IPv6 worldwide, in order to provide more reliable statistics
on IPv6 implementation and enable decision takers to migrate to the new
addressing scheme in time before IPv4 addressing runs out.

In order to explain the project and provide an update on its progress,
ISOC England is running a Webinar on 6 June 2012. You are all invited to
join remotely. It's easy: just click on the link below. Webex will run
and you'll be able to follow. It will be a Powerpoint presentation of
the latest results, pre-IPv6 launch
