Laptops out of sight get loaded with garbage and then the VPN connection
stops working. They complain it's slow. VPN multiplies the support
headaches. With so many other more full proof methods to do the limited
things they usually want to do it's not work it.

"Don't allow your clients to use VPN?"

Why not? It's about the easiest thing out there, and easy to secure...
What's the issue?

No nothing so complex just people wanting to VPN a single laptop or
group of laptops. Usually it's sales people. I don't allow any of my
clients to use VPN, except in cases where we have site-to-site VPN
setup. When I get these help requests from other consultants my first
task is to try to convince them that they don't need VPN with so many
other remote access means available. Failing that I trace out the
problem.

What kind of VPN issues have been giving you problems? Site to site VPN
with downlevel VPN servers?
