This is one of my strawberry patch networks. Company deices airplanes at
airports all over the country. Main office is in Florida. The airport
offices only contain 1 pc and a time clock with an IP address. Hardly
seems worth the price of a Cisco router when all that's connected to it
are 2 devices.

I might try using the Netopia directly have the local guy disconnect the
Linksys all together.

For "real" routers, like at the border for multiple T1 facilities, etc,
I've
still not found anything that performs like or is reliable as a good old
Cisco router. I've had 2611's and MC3810's in service 24/7 literally
for
YEARS with no incident at all. At my house in Tahoe, my MC3810 ran
nonstop
for 5 years straight in my *garage*. We're talking weather extremes
from
100F with severe dust to sub-zero freezing / high moisture environments
without any issues at all. Those boxes are just indestructible.

As far as these "throw-away" boxes, I too use NetGear. My FVX538 has
done
quite well considering, and has only "locked up" on my once.
