yahoo through ISA

I'm having the hardest time getting Yahoo instant messenger to work through
ISA. I've set up a pachet filter fro port 5050 as per yahoo's suggestion but
the damned thing refuses to work through either socks or http. Any suggestions ?
BTW i'm not sur ebut this might be related to my not beinag able to access nntp
or mail on the LOCAL isa server.
