Yep - that's what you need.. ..an application that requires you to disable your firewall before you can install it. That's the epitome of sloppy software engineering. If they don't know how to handle the services they're attaching themselves to, they have no business installing on your firewall. ..but that's just me. ------------------------------------------------------- Jim Harrison MCP(NT4, W2K), A+, Network+, PCG http://isaserver.org/Jim_Harrison/ http://isatools.org Read the help / books / articles! ------------------------------------------------------- -----Original Message----- From: Ball, Dan [mailto:DBall@xxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, April 11, 2005 17:47 To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: surfcontrol build number http://www.ISAserver.org I'm not sure if the original documentation mentions it either. When I first installed the software, it kept giving me errors and wouldn't install. So I disabled the firewall, and then installed it, and it went in fine. -----Original Message----- From: Ara [mailto:ara@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, April 11, 2005 20:33 To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: surfcontrol build number http://www.ISAserver.org Unfortunately I did install. Their document on service pack doesn't mention that you have to disable firewall service, so I guess some thing is wrong with mine and have to apply service pack one more time properly ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=isalist ISA Server Newsletter: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/newsletter.asp ISA Server FAQ: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ Other Internet Software Marketing Sites: World of Windows Networking: http://www.windowsnetworking.com Leading Network Software Directory: http://www.serverfiles.com No.1 Exchange Server Resource Site: http://www.msexchange.org Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Network Security Library: http://www.secinf.net/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this ISAserver.org Discussion List as: jim@xxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe visit http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=isalist Report abuse to listadmin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx All mail to and from this domain is GFI-scanned.
