I think this is an ISA Bug, I have the same problem, Microsoft support sent
me the following instructions to re-generate the reports, but this doesn't
solve the problem. I hope Microsoft give us a hotfix or SP to solve these
kind of problems.

Best regards,

Julio Bretín.

The best way to re-generate the summaries and reports in ISA is to follow
the
steps below:

1. Move the files under "\Program Files\Microsoft ISA Server\ISASummaries"
to
another location.

2. Move the report files under "\Program Files\Microsoft ISA
Server\ISAReports"
to another location.

3. Use REGEDIT to save the key "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Fpc\Reports" (The
key is the same for both SE and EE)

4. Stop the ISA Control Server and any dailysum.exe and repgen.exe process.

5. Then delete the two keys under the key mentioned in step 3.
- LastDailySummaryDate
- Last MonthlySummaryDate

6. Restart the ISA processes again.

7. Create a new report job covering the period you wish to create summaries
and
reports for. Schedule it to run immediately. Also use a set of credentials
that has administrator rights on the ISA machine.

- This will force ISA to read all the log files and generate new summaries
for
that period.

- Note: Repgen.exe or dailysum.exe will spike the CPU at 100% while it
generates the reports.
- Monitor the ISASummaries directory to check on the process. If it suddenly
because "stuck" reading a log file, and even after waiting a substantial
amount of time it doesn't continue, then use userdump to dump the active
repgen or dailysum process.
- You can identify which date that are causing the hang by looking at the
summaries. Just add 1 day to the last .ils file.
- I have seen instances where an extra carriage return line feed at the end
cause the report generator to get stuck in a loop. Using an editor to remove
the extra crlf have solved problem before.

Please try these steps and see they either solve the problem or at least
helps
us narrow the problem down to a particular log file.

Leave it be for awhile; the more files there are to scan, the longer this
will take. Also, check out your event log occasionally to make sure it
hasn't choked.

Jim,
I have started the ISADailydummary task. It has been running for nearly 30
mins now. But I dont see any new summary file getting created..is this
normal..? If I look in the task manager, the DAILYSUM.EXE has 3 threads
associated with it and it has 11 I/O reads which is not increasing.

Raj

Yep, but be prepared for CPU to slam up to 100% for an extended period while
the summaries are generated.

How do I regenerate the summaries for all missed days. Do I just run the
Dailysummary task from the task scheduler?

Raj

You should also verify that your scheduled apps (dailysum and repgen) are
enabled and functional.
Dailysum should be scheduled to run daily (duh) and repgen should run "at
logon".
You can r-click either of them in Task Scheduler and select "run". If they
complete without error, then you're probably ok.

Jim Thanks for the reply,
When I re-enable the summaries do I need to restart the services?

Raj

If you have no summaries, you get no reports.

If the daily and monthly summaries are disabled will the reports still get
generated?
