True; very true.
We can tell "fer shur" if Amos will be so kind as to provide the
fully-qualified name used to connect to the POP server...

Just another way to keep joe-cable-modem-user from hosting their own
services which is often a violation of the terms of agreement. It does
tend to get ridiculous, but DHCP expirations _should_ be transparent to
an end user who is "playing by the rules" and not hosting services.

Cable-based DynDns clients, for one.
For some stupid reason, some cable providers have come to the conclusion
that 5 minute DHCP assignments are a good thing.

What kind of Web sites are these that change their IP addresses so
often?

What kind of content do they host?

Can you provide some examples? This seems unusual that so many users
would be affected by "home user" sites.

Thanks!
Tom

Take a look at the registry entries I spoke of in
http://isaserver.org/tutorials/ISA_Clients__Part_1__General_ISA_Server_C
onfiguration.html for disabling the ISA DNS cache for the firewal land
web proxy services.
