ports 445 and 139

Hi There !
I am using ethereal network protocol analyzer and I saw when I try to connect
to a share like \\server\sharename (this share is in a DMZ),
W2K searches for two ports - 445 and 139 (both of them TCP), if I open the 445
port it works fine, if I open the 139 port it works fine also .
Do I have to open both ports in the ip packet filter or just one of them ?
