Yes, I have SNMP installed, I'll look again at the policies now that I
know it can be done.

How well is it working for you? Do you find discrepancies also? I
considered setting the polling for 1 minute to make it more accurate,
but I'm not sure how that would turn out. I might have to set up a
separate copy for testing.

Dan

I have it monitoring all 3 nics n my ISA server. Did you enable SNMP
from your monitoring pc to the relevent network objects?? Is the snmp
service installed on your ISA server? AFAIK it's not installed by
default.

I have MRTG monitoring the switches on both sides of the ISA server, but
couldn't get it to monitor the ISA server itself. I didn't spend a lot
of time on it, so it is possible it could be done.

The main reason I'm looking for something like that though I need
something that shows accurate graphs depicting the amount of traffic on
each NIC over a period of time. MRTG does graphs like this, but the
results are very misleading because it uses a 5-minute average. I can
bury the network, watch the Task manager network usage flat-line for an
hour at a time, and MRTG will show only about 40-50% utilization.

It's a never ending battle with our ISP on this topic, they insist we're
not using what they provide, and we insist what they provide isn't
sufficient (We pay for 8Mbps, why do we only get 3Mbps?).

Hi Dan,

How about installing MRTG on your ISA firewall? Since the love those
graphs, you can show them yours.
