For this just enter "NT AUTHORITY\NetworkService"
And Leave blank password.

Regarding ISA2004 SP1:
It seems that SP1 removed write access rights to ISA main directory from
NetworkService.

I tested DownloadSecurity6 with SP1 and it works Ok as during setup
DS6 is creating access rights to its main directory for NetworkService
to allow ISA plug-in read/write access and it is not using ISA directory
anymore.

However some older DS version might produce error event log entries in
DEBUG mode as they wrote debug logs to ISA directory. This is true also
for WebMonitor BETA for ISA server with URL categorization database.
This would simply stop working after installing SP1 on ISA2004 but
because this was old beta version from November so it should not be a
problem now.

If you still have problems send me directly error even log entries and
version of dsecisa.dll plug-in you have.

Thanx

Regards David Farinic.

Jim,
I tried to change it back to networkservice account and it comes with
some predefined password and when I press ok, it comes back to me that I
have to put in a valid password and won't take it
Thank you

Bad, BAD Ara...!

Remove DS, put the service account back where it was.
Examine your event logs for the real problem indiucations.

Subject: [isalist] firewall service stops

http://www.ISAserver.org

Hello
Would someone confirm this with me please? Right after applying service
pack I get firewall services failures, what I have done if removing
download security and change the firewall service to run under local
system account not nt authority. Then it worked. So the question is
which account is right and what are the side effects coming out of it?
By the way, I get so many web proxies filter failures and after service
pack and client web browsing disconnection which this solved it for me
Help is appreciated

2004 standard edition with service pack 1
