Mark,

My ISP knocks me off every 10 minutes, but I found an easy way to fix
that, in your connectoid, properties your dial up connection and choose
options and in redialing options > redial attemps (use) 99999999999.
Every time your connection is dropped windows2000 will automatically
redial the connection.

Good Luck!

With Kind Regards,
Khan

Subject: [isalist] dial-up connection dropping

Hello again,

I have several problems with my dial-up connection which I couldn't
solve. First of all I'd like to ask for you experience with this kind of
connection, does it always work as expected?

Even though I configured the connectoid to never hang up and to restore
a dropped connection, after some time of inactivity, ISA will hang up
and not restore the connection until I issue a request from one of my
clients.

I tried to cirumvent this using task scheduler on the ISA server to ping
a certain host every half hour, but this doesn't obvioulsy work either.
I have also been receiving event log entries saying that there was no
dial on demand interface for packet filters (running the german version
- the error message might look different in english), but that error
seems to have gone miracleously.

There was no hint neither in the knowledgebase, the online help or in
T.W.S.' book.

Thanks for listening.
Mark
