http://www.ISAserver.org ------------------------------------------------------- It is on a local network. Server is dual xeon with 2 gb ram. Believe it or not, after I added this manually to system policy my remote desktop logging in much faster than before. Maybe it has to do something with group policy with line speed matters. -----Original Message----- From: isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Jim Harrison Sent: Friday, June 02, 2006 10:13 AM To: isalist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [isalist] Re: default policy for icmp between ISA / internal network http://www.ISAserver.org ------------------------------------------------------- ICMP is only important if you have multiple sites separated by slow links. It enables domain machines to determine latency. If you have a fast network (i.e., no WLAN or MLAN separated by slow links), it's a non-issue for the most part. ------------------------------------------------------- Jim Harrison MCP(NT4, W2K), A+, Network+, PCG http://isaserver.org/Jim_Harrison/ http://isatools.org Read the help / books / articles! ------------------------------------------------------- -----Original Message----- From: isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Ara Avvali Sent: Friday, June 02, 2006 10:03 To: isalist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [isalist] default policy for icmp between ISA / internal network Hello everyone, There is something on my server that doesn't sound right. I can't ping the ISA machine from internal network neither from controllers but it works the other way. I think icmp is a big deal between domain controllers and clients. Would someone confirm if that has to be set to enable? Appreciated All mail to and from this domain is GFI-scanned. ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: //www.freelists.org/archives/isalist/ ISA Server Newsletter: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/newsletter.asp ISA Server Articles and Tutorials: http://www.isaserver.org/articles_tutorials/ ISA Server Blogs: http://blogs.isaserver.org/ ------------------------------------------------------ Visit TechGenix.com for more information about our other sites: http://www.techgenix.com ------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe visit http://www.isaserver.org/pages/isalist.asp Report abuse to listadmin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: //www.freelists.org/archives/isalist/ ISA Server Newsletter: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/newsletter.asp ISA Server Articles and Tutorials: http://www.isaserver.org/articles_tutorials/ ISA Server Blogs: http://blogs.isaserver.org/ ------------------------------------------------------ Visit TechGenix.com for more information about our other sites: http://www.techgenix.com ------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe visit http://www.isaserver.org/pages/isalist.asp Report abuse to listadmin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
