OK, I think I understand what you have todo:

Internal interface:
- IP-address: 192.168.1.100
- subnetmask: 255.255.255.0
- default Gateway: none

External interface:
- IP-address: ???
- subnetmask: ???
- default gateway: ISP router

Define extra route:
- route -p add 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.1 METRIC 1

So, the default gateway on the ISA should be set at the external interface.
Use for the second internal segment a metric of 1 (it is the shortest path
for that route). Also, in the router '192.168.1.1' define the default
gateway to point to the ISA '192.168.1.100'.

Stefaan

you are right i mistaked the second segment is 192.168.2.0 and the router is
192.168.1.1
isa is 192.168.1.100

i was thinking to add routes like :
route -p add 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.1 METRIC 2

and to clear the gateway 192.168.1.1 from the internal NIC but i am not in
front of the machine anymore and would prefer to collect some ideas before
working again

thanks for your reply

Hi,

you said: "ISA is running on segment 192.168.1.0". I assume this is the
internal interface, right?
You said also: "we added a second segment 192.168.1.0". Here I have a
problem: this is the same segment!!! Unless you have subnetted 192.168.1.0,
this will never work.

Please, give us a clear picture of what you want to achieve.

Greetings,
Stefaan

hello everyone

my isa is running fine on a segment 192.168.1.0 and the no getway on the
internal NIC.

we added a second segment 192.168.1.0 and some boxes on this segment must
use a shared file on isa. for that we added the corresponding getway on
the internal NIC. people can no more accordingly use internet.

i have tom's bible and it is clear that this situation is not a proper
situation. i have to buy a new server clearly.

waiting for that is there a way to satisfy all users ????

thanks a lot for any idea
