I know that it is not the recommended method... What I did successfully in some customers was just installing the the bought new ISA Server over the running trial version. MS said that the trial must be removed and that the new one should be fresh installed. -----Original Message----- From: Scott Tracey [mailto:Scott.Tracey@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: quarta-feira, 8 de agosto de 2001 11:33 To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: bought license, will i lose config if i install over the demo ver sion? http://www.ISAserver.org I have experienced problems with this. Theoretically you just backup your ISA configuration, uninstall the trial ISA, reinstall licensed ISA, and restore the configuration. This process failed during the configuration restore due to mismatched software GUIDs or something like that. It has been several months since this happened. I don't remeber the exact "nasty-gram" that I got from ISA but, it had to do with the fact that ISA knew that the configuration came from a differnet install of ISA. Everything had to be reconfigured. That was a real pain. Perhaps some of the other folks on this list know an exact way.
