Hi Ray,
I go to defcon every year. Learn lots of good ways to protect my
systems. Doesn't mean I'm a hacker.
Except when you get older it's no longer called "eleet" but "fleet"! lol
port 31337 ADM worm, Back Fire, Back Orifice (Lm), Back Orifice Russian,
BlitzNet, BO client, BO Facil, BO2, Freak88, Freak2k, NoBackO
port 31337 (UDP) - Back Orifice, Deep BO

I've been gathering up all the Trojan information I can find and have
been creating a database that I can query my firewall, packet filter and
web proxy logs.

Thank you,

Joseph

31337 = E L E E T in "hacker speak" as in "I am elite".

As I recall the original "owner" of this port was a trojan called Sub7,
but who know what it belongs to these days.

Disclaimer: I have no direct knowledge of hackers, hacking, hacker
speak, or being eleet. This information is based solely on the articles
I have read in Playboy.

What is the state of the port? Is it listening? 31337 does not have an
app officially associated with it in IANA's registration. Go to
http://www.protect-me.com/, select Freeware from the Choose A Product
pull-down in the upper-left and download ActivePorts. It will tell you
which image has opened the port.
