Being in the Microwave industry, I am pretty sure that SNR means "Signal to Noise Ratio" - but unless we have something to compare "21" to, we can't really give that number a meaning. But I am pretty sure SNR means what I mentioned. Attenuation is a term, used quite a bit in the Fiber Optics - and it has to do with the signal getting a tad scattered, due to the length of the medium in which it has to travel. Attenuation is a bad thing, so they try to get that as low as possible - and this is why there are specific recommended length limitations, for specific mediums - Fiber, Copper, etc. Again, without knowing what those numbers mean, we can't give any real meaning to them. Also, I believe the "Near End" (provided it's YOUR router giving you those stats) is the Attenuation levels on your side of the connection, and the "Far End" is where the connection terminates at the Telco switch. I could be wrong - but I think the info I provided is fairly accurate (I wish I knew more about this stuff, it's extremely intriguing to me). Hope that helps a tad.
