The force to authenticate is only applied to the web proxy service, none of
the listeners have it enabled. Would this still give me the tracking that I
need for accounting purposes? - Marc

Hi Mark,
NEVER enable that option in the outgoing listener. Just make sure there are
no anonymous access rules in your firewall policy.

Hey all,
I'm having some problems with WPAD and was wondering if anyone has
any suggestions for me. This problem is more personal and am just trying to
implement this out of convenience and the other benefits that it provides.
I just got a new laptop and use it quite a bit(802.11 is by far the best
thing since sliced bread). I also roam between companies that I do contract
work for. On to my problem, I would like to set things up so I have
zero-configuration when I roam from one network to another, therefore WPAD
makes sense. The problem is, I can't get it to work. These companies both
have quite strict security and accountability policies therefore I need to
implement a forced authentication to ISA 2004 Web Proxy. All good and fine,
except this forced authentication also applies to WPAD clients, therefore
clients can never receive WPAD information as credentials are not sent for
this. I am not sure if I am missing something here as WPAD should not be
accessing the proxy service at all anyways, right? Anyone seen this problem
before or know any workaround? I know this is the problem because as soon
as I disable the require all clients to authenticate box, WPAD picks up no
problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. - TIA Marc.
