ISA 2004 MMC doesn't use DCOM, it has its own special Firewall
Manglement protocol - TCP:3847, to avoid just such nastiness...
MMC will still authenticate using "normal" methods, though.

You may notice that I said MMC as well; I wasn't sure if he was strictly

limiting it to WMI, Mr. Man, so we'll have no more out of you! Besides,
I
didn't say 139, did I? :-p

Yasilly - WMI doesn't use CIFS - it uses DCOM.

Remote management of systems via MMC or WMI requires TCP 135 and 445.
Well,
to be pedantic, 135 *or* 445 depending on what configuration is in
place

that may disable NetBIOS, thus requiring CIFS. Oh, and you need to
bang
two
half's of a coconut together as well. You will obviously need the
appropriate bindings in place for the interface.

Does anyone know what I need to do in order to allow WMI queries from the internal network to the isa server???

It's for a script that inventories hardware via wmi.

The haggis is unusual in that it is neither consistently nocturnal nor diurnal, but instead is active at dawn and dusk (crepuscular), with occasional forays forth during the day and night.
