Is WINS necessary in a pure Windows 2003/2000 native environment? In
this case below why is it necessary to support WINS?

Implementing Demand-Dial Routing

         Configuring a Demand-Dial Router

Connecting the Router to the Intranet

To connect a demand-dial router to the intranet, install a network
adapter and configure the server with:

*
        An assigned static IP address and subnet mask.
*
        Domain Name System (DNS) and Windows Internet Name Service
(WINS) server addresses for the intranet.
