From what I heard down the street, is that Cisco is NOT a security
company, it's a networking company, and some dolts who spent WAY too
much on PIX devices are trying to talk themselves out of a pickle. :)

Hi Dorothy,

You are aware that you're posting to an ISA list about adding Cisco to
your security model?
:-)
Also, VMPS (assuming you're talking about "VLAN Membership Policy
Server") is irrelevant to a firewall security question.
VLANs, regardless of the management protocol involved, are an Ethernet,
not an IP issue. As an IP-based firewall, ISA neither knows nor cares
how you define or manage your VLANs.

That said, keep your eyes on isaserver.org; word on the streets is that
Tom has an article coming on ISA and 802.1q VLANs...

I am in a heated debate with our Sr Sys Admin - I hope that you can
help.
He believes that an ISA server along with standard routers and firewalls
should be the end all to improving network security. He doesn't believe
that it should be implemented with a Cisco solution ie VMPS. Can you
shed some light on this?
