Subject: [isalist] Using Msn Messenger with Proxy Server 2.0

http://www.ISAserver.org

        Hello Friends.

I got a weird situation, but I believe its a silly one.

My proxy server was configured to everyone users. I mean, right
click on web proxy, properties, permissions, enable access control, it was
configured 'everyone' there.

So, I decided to change everyone for a global group. The Internet
access kept going on well, but users couldnt use msn messenger anymore. Then
I put back the everyone, and the users now can access msn messenger again.

What am I missing here? Cant I use global or local groups to control
Internet Access. I know I can, but it's not allowing to use msn messenger.

I use external msn messenger (hotmail), not a internal one.

My environment is Windows NT 4.0 Network, Proxy 2.0 Service Pack 1,
and W2k server, SP3.

Does anyone has an idea what is going on here?

        Thanks
