That's a mirrored machine-local account.

It is the firewall name, *not* the client workstation. E.g.
FIREWALL\william

Instead of what it should be... MYDOMAIN\william

What's the actual value of %machinename%; the client or the ISA?

Could this have anything to do with the fact that "Ask unauthenticated
users
for identification" is not enabled for my outgoing WEB requests?

I believe at one stage I decided that because I don't have any ANONYMOUS
rules, it was unnecessary to enable this. Is it a best practice to
possibly
enable it?

Thanks

Subject: [isalist] Username does not include %Domain%\

http://www.ISAserver.org

Hi there

Not quite sure I worded my subject correctly...

I recall many moons ago asking why ISA reports all traffic that is
received
via the Firewall Client/Firewall Service as %MachineName%\%UserName%
instead
of %DomainName%\%UserName%, as it correctly does for traffic received
via
the WEB Proxy service.

I'm stumped if I can recall the reply I got, so if someone could please
oblige I would appreciate it.

Also, would this have been fixed in ISA2004?

Thanks
William R.
