Jim, Thanks for the response... If I understand your script correctly, it will cause the server to pass the DNS or WINS name of the server into WPAD instead of the IP address? Very handy... PSS was able to assist in a different way last night... As it turns out, I configured TMG as a 3 legged network. I configured the NIC with a static IP for the perimeter network. The perimeter network was configured in TMG but no network cable was physically connected to the NIC.. (I simply hadn't gotten around to testing / playing with the perimeter network yet... ) TMG didn't like that. PSS had me plug in the perimeter NIC and restart the firewall service, then WPAD came out correct. Go figure. Obviously an uncommon scenario, but it still seems kinda like a bug though. :) -JP From: isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Jim Harrison Sent: Thursday, April 08, 2010 3:52 PM To: isalist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [isalist] Re: TMG wpad.dat includes wrong proxy address (responding to the right thread this time - it's 2300 in Herzliya ,ferkrissake, ok?!? :-)) eezabug... http://jim.isatools.org/tools/carpnamesystem.js. Run it from a command window as : cscript carpnamesystem.js dns You have to restaqrt the firewall service (the script will tell you so) before the change can take effect. Most everything seems to be working correctly. However, I've noticed the IE Auto-config isn't working. After poking around, I've found that wpad.dat being handed to the clients still includes the wrong proxy address... function MakeProxies(){ this[0]=new Node("10.1.6.61",3370864827,1.000000); } The address of the primary internal interface of the server is 10.1.1.7.... The address 10.1.6.61 is assigned to the RRAS interface on the server... I've double checked the binding order, and the LAN interface is listed at the top of the list. So, I cannot figure out why the server is providing the RRAS interface IP as the proxy. Obviously this doesn't work so well for clients. Any insight as to why this might be happening and how I might fix it?
