Generally, I try to solve the cause of this behavior as it's normally related to an upstream network issue. If you can't solve it, then adjusting the underlying TCP/IP stack to be more error-tolerant may be your only issue. Why do you not believe that MTU adjustments are inappropriate? What is your Internet connection? There was some discussion regarding forcing the MTU size under 1500 but I vetoed that thinking that should not be a problem anymore, and would cause more congestion. I put this in place on one of the servers in the array this morning (the TCPInitialRtt=5000) and we will see how it pans out. Thanks for the confirmation and I will let you know what I see. BTW, have you used this before? I have checked the switch, and everything along the way. What I'm wondering is since the Source is always the ISA servers, if there is a retransmit value I can set either on Win2k or on the card (Intel Server cards) that would increase the value of the timeouts. Any help would be appreciated.
