I have set in place a server publishing rule to publish the ip address of the cluster(NLB) as an HTTPS server. As I want to pass the https requests directly to the cluster(NLB). Bridging won't work (or I don't see how it could) here because there are two servers each with a different certificate on the backend. So the required Cert varies depending on which box in the cluster(NLB) is hit. I have a web publishing rule that passes the standard http requests correctly into the cluster(NLB) without any problems. What I don't get is why the https request returns a dns error. I would assume if I misconfigured something I'd get the standard ISA refusal error... -----Original Message----- From: Jim Harrison [mailto:jim@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Friday, October 19, 2001 10:59 AM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] Re: Strange HTTPS behavior... http://www.ISAserver.org You should read up in the ISA help about publishing HTTPS. It's not as simple as "added an 's' to the URL". Isaserver.org also has some excellent tutorials in the Learning Zone. When going directly to the site I have no problems. http://secure.site.com/secdir returns a message to connect with https. (it is set as required in IIS) then connecting to https://secure.site.com/secdir establishes the ssl connection and prompts for a login. Login and all is ok. The problem is that when this site is placed behind ISA and you connect to http://secure.site.com/secdir it returns a message to connect with https. (correct) Then connecting to https://secure.site.com/secdir sits for a while then returns a dns error page?!? Only adding an S to the url.... any ideas? ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this ISAserver.org Discussion List as: jim@xxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub') ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this ISAserver.org Discussion List as: zacharym@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub')
