I always thought that squids were the "lowest form of Marine life".

Thus begs the question - if you're using AD and ISA has direct access to the
LAN / Internet, why is Squid involved at all?

Here is the setup

ISA is the firewall with dual nics- one in our DMZ and one in our internal
LAN.

Squid is available via wpad and is located on the internal network and uses
ISA for internet access.

Squid authenticates with Active Directory using Samba.
