Tom,

I have come across this DNS & MTU reasoning before. How do I know my DNS &
MTU are configured correctly?

Hi Sachin,

I've heard this many times before, but I've never been able to figure
out what the issue was. As long as the MTU is correct on DSL lines, and
DNS is configured correctly, you should be in good shape.

Tom

Hello

Just wantye to know something.

We have put around 100 people on the Internet. We have 2 x 2MB lines
aggregated and we are getting very good speeds across both lines (more
than 2MB from each line). We have not put anything before or after the
aggregator, which is RainConnect by the way sitting on a windows 2000
professional machine. So there is no firewall and there is no other
device. We are doing this as a test. The users may have their own
firewall
to protect themselves, but this is not our issue.

Now as soon as we introduce ISA Server, everything slows down a lot.
What
can be doing this do you think? We have ISA Server setup in a workgroup
and not a domain. Firewall clients, MSN messenger and a series of other
ports for gaming, FTP access, etc have been open for certain users but
isn't really being utilised. We dont get more than 1MB from each line
anymore. i know we have locked down the ISA server a lot, which maybe
causing some problem. But is there somewhere we should be looking?

Regards

Sachin (again)
