Hi Frederic,

How do you define "down"? I believe the gateway has to be unresponsive,
rather than the Internet connection being unavailable. But it's a good
question, I'm not sure regarding the details of how the dead GW is
detected. I'll have to check TechNet and find out.

Good day!

        I have a problem not per say related to ISA but, since it is
routing related, I feel this is a good place to ask.

        On my LAN, I have two subnets separated by two routers.  One is
ISA and it is also the GW to the Internet and the other is hardware and
is the primary router between the LANs

        On the workstations, I have a default gateway pointing to ISA
and two GW for the other LAN (one being ISA and the other the hardware
router).

        The routing table looks like this:

        ISA:  192.168.23.254     Hardware router:  192.168.23.253

        My problem is that the workstations do not detect if one of the
GW is down.  The following parameters are properly set in the registry
under HKLM\system\CurrentControlSet\Services\TCPIP\parameters :

        - EnableDeadGWDetect = 1
        - DeadGWDetectDefault = 1
